CORBY Town has signed three new players – brothers Lee and Stuart Hendrie, both from Tamworth, and Kalern Thomas from Loughborough Dynamo.
Lee Hendrie, ex-Aston Villa and England international, is a central midfielder. Brother Stuart is a right winger and Kalern Thomas a right back.
The Steelen’s joint manager Andrew (Stan) Wilson said: “This is not a publicity stunt! Tommy Wright played with Lee at Tamworth and he was the best player on the pitch every week. He will be an enormous asset to the team and will bring depth and strength to the side.
“Stuart, his younger brother, has also joined us from Tamworth and is a fantastic addition to the team. He had offers from two other clubs and chose us.
“Finally, we have Kalern Thomas, who is a very strong player and will make a great addition to the back four.
“The three signings have created some competition for spots on the team, which is something we want to do, but also we need a bit more experience in the side.”
The other half of the club’s managerial duo, Tommy Wright, also commented on the new additions: “Lee is a great signing for the football club and a statement to where we want to go. I played with him at Tamworth last season and he was a class above. He’s got an infectious character on and off the pitch and will be a huge boost to the current players and will help the younger players with his coaching and playing experience.
“I also played with Stuart last season and he is a wide player and something we don’t currently have. His work rate is second to none, he’s a likeable lad and has the ability with final ball to hurt teams. He also has the bite in the tackle, which we both like.
“Kalern is someone I saw playing last season and stood out; he can easily make the step up. He is physically strong and very athletic and will bring a great option at full back.
“We are both delighted to welcome all three into the club.”
